Summary

This grant opportunity provides funding for nonprofit organizations operating nationally and, in limited cases, internationally with a focus on environmental protection, wildlife preservation, and animal welfare. The program is designed to support organizations that advance initiatives addressing critical environmental challenges, protect wildlife habitats, and improve the well-being of animals. Projects may include awareness campaigns, educational materials, habitat conservation, and rescue or rehabilitation programs.

Eligible applicants are organizations that have received invitations from the foundation. Organizations must hold IRS 501(c)(3) or 509(a) status or work with a fiscal sponsor possessing such status. Individuals and unsolicited proposals are not considered. The program emphasizes long-term, relationship-based funding and encourages strategic collaborations that can achieve measurable and sustainable impact.

Grant funds are intended for initiatives that provide tangible benefits, whether through public education, habitat or species preservation, climate change mitigation, or animal welfare programs. The foundation evaluates each invitation individually, allowing flexibility in funding based on the scope and significance of the proposed project. Emphasis is placed on projects that demonstrate innovation, effectiveness, and alignment with the foundation’s focus areas.

Funding is awarded on an invitation-only basis, with invitations extended twice per year. Fall invitations are typically distributed by mid-October with funding provided in late November, while spring invitations are distributed by mid-April with funding provided in late May. There are no fixed grant amounts, and each proposal is assessed individually for potential impact and alignment with program priorities.

This opportunity is ideal for organizations seeking targeted funding to advance conservation, educational outreach, and animal welfare initiatives with national or limited international impact.
