GrantID: 75044
Grant Funding Amount Low: $2,500
Deadline: November 28, 2025
Grant Amount High: $50,000
Summary
Grants are available in central Ohio for artists working in visual, performing, literary, film, fashion, theatre, multidisciplinary, and related disciplines. The funding is intended for individuals (working artists), not organizations, small businesses, or nonprofits, and is specifically designed to support expenses connected to artistic practice.
The intent of use for the funds includes making new work; paying for materials, supplies and resources; supporting professional development or learning opportunities; marketing, promotions or outreach; covering certain legal costs related to one’s art business or art practice; paying for travel tied to formal artistic engagements; and costs associated with performances, exhibitions, showcases, venue or space rentals, scenery or costumes.
Award amounts range from $1,000 to $10,000, depending on the scope of the project and needs. Eligibility requires that applicants be working artists (typically age 18 or older); they must reside in Franklin County, Ohio, or in a county adjacent to it, with a demonstrated connection to the Columbus arts community (exhibiting, performing, producing work there); and meet criteria such as maintaining a portfolio, having a history of paid artistic work or public sharing of their work. Undergraduate degree-seeking students are typically excluded.
The benefits include financial support to create new work, improve craft, expand audiences, and handle costs that might otherwise impede artistic production or presentation. The grant aims to strengthen the ability of artists to sustain and grow their practice within the Ohio / Columbus area, enhancing visibility as well as artistic capacity.
Those working in Community Development & Services and located in Ohio may meet the eligibility criteria for this grant. To browse other funding opportunities suited to your focus areas, visit The Grant Portal and try the Search Grant tool.
