Ohio Grants for Advancing STEM Education in Public Schools in Ohio (USA)
GrantID: 75189
Grant Funding Amount Low: $10,000
Deadline: Ongoing
Grant Amount High: $15,000
Summary
This grant is intended to support nonprofit organizations (and in certain cases program‐oriented investments) across a defined geographic region, with particular emphasis on one city and its surrounding state. The funding is not available to individuals or conventional for‑profit businesses in most cases. Organizations eligible to apply are those with recognized charitable status—typically those registered as tax‑exempt nonprofits.
The goal of the grant is to catalyze work in a few interlocking thematic areas: environmental justice and climate adaptation, creative and cultural initiatives, civic engagement and democratic participation, education and public schooling, and efforts that strengthen neighborhoods, economic inclusion, and social equity. Grantees are expected to address structural imbalances—such as racial inequity or threats to democracy—and to think deeply about how their proposed work contributes to those broader systems.
Proposals are reviewed several times per year. The organization generally allocates a multi‑million dollar pool annually (recently over $17 million awarded through more than 100 grants). Grant amounts vary widely. In past rounds, some grants have been modest operating support in the tens of thousands of dollars over one to two years, while others have been much larger multi‑year commitments in the hundreds of thousands. Some capital improvement requests are considered, particularly when they incorporate green building practices or sustainability standards.
Funds may be used for operating support, project or program implementation, capacity building, evaluation, planning, and in certain cases capital or facilities work (especially in the core service region). The grant is most accessible to organizations based in the foundation’s home city and state, though it also supports selected organizations beyond that immediate footprint when their work aligns with the foundation’s mission.
In short, this grant opportunity is structured to strengthen mission‑driven nonprofits working at the intersection of justice, community, and sustainability in and around the foundation’s home geography. If your organization’s focus aligns with those themes and you meet nonprofit status requirements, this may be a promising fit.
This grant may be available to individuals and organizations in Ohio that are actively involved in Non-Profit Support Services. To locate more funding opportunities in your field, visit The Grant Portal and search by interest area using the Search Grant tool.
